Though often debated, the classic bitter cocktail known as the Negroni is thought to draw its origin from Florence Italy’s Caffè Casoni in 1919. Allegedly, the Count Camillo Negroni ordered a much more aggressive Americano, and the Negroni was born.

Since the recent dawn of the Zero Proof Revolution, the Negroni has become a sort of Holy Grail to those of us who no longer imbibe. How on Earth does one make a nonalcoholic version of a cocktail who’s whole identity is “I AM BOOZE”, you may ask?

Well after a little brainstorming, hours spent crouched over a tiny scale in a one room apartment, and many friends accosted into trying the latest potion - we had something truly tasty.

Our Zero Proof Negroni is crafted by drowning citrus peels in cane sugar, adding water and a whisper of Apple Cider Vinegar, and infusing that solution with an absurd myriad of botanicals. Finally, we flash infuse our baby beverage with dried hibiscus, providing it with some earthiness and its signature red hue.

If you’ve been paying attention so far, you’ve probably gathered that what there’s more to these drinks than what’s in the bottle. If the idea of a diverse lineup of cocktails tantalizes your tastebuds, then take a gander at the next section. In it, we’ve put together a few recipes showcasing the begginings of what our Negroni can be.
